On the evening of February 4, there was a massive failure in the work of the most popular sites. Among them are social networks, instant messengers and resources of Russian companies.
This is evidenced by the data of Downdetector – a service that detects failures and disconnections of Internet pages online.
So, the failure occurred with the Russian social network VKontakte. From 17:00 to 20:00, users could not log into the desktop version of the site, the mobile app, or their profile. The number of problem reports on Downdetector has exceeded 74,000.
Following VKontakte, technical disruptions began at the Russian “SPB exchange” – it even had to suspend trading. The exchange website was down for several hours.
Then the site of a large Russian provider of digital services and services “Rostelecom” “flew”.
Users of the WhatsApp messenger also complained about the problems. More than 70% of those who reported them experienced difficulties sending messages, 17% complained about the overall performance of the messenger application.
In addition, users reported difficulties accessing Instagram. Most of the complaints concerned application crashes.
Problem reports also appeared on the MTS page on the Downdetector website. Users talked about interruptions in mobile Internet (56%) and cellular signal (35%). Although the press service of MTS assured that the networks of the mobile operator are operating normally.
Many people also informed about the poor performance of Telegram, Twitter and Megafon services.
Almost all complaints came from Russia.
