Cosmos Hotel Group has not yet bought the five-star hotel Mergen Bator

The Telegram channel “Construction and Real Estate of Buryatia” reported that “Cosmos Hotel Group” bought a five-star hotel “Mergen Bator”. In fact, the hotel still remains in the asset portfolio of the old owner, Putnik-Baikal LLC.

The purchase is at the stage of bargaining, the sale price is still being discussed. But the hotel will be sold with a 100% probability: the company has no people left ready to manage the hotel. And for the operator Cosmos Hotel Group, which is building its own five-star hotel on Lake Baikal, it is easier to buy an asset with a good base, rather than build it from scratch.

The company associated with the owner, Putnik Sibir LLC, returned years later to Baikalskaya Gavan with a yacht club project, it does not need an extra headache with hotels in Ulan-Ude. In 2013, the project won the Regions for Sustainable Development award in the amount of 500 million rubles. However, in 2015 the project was frozen due to problems with the land issue. The registry stopped registering plots in the Central Economic Zone of Baikal, but, apparently, the issue has now been resolved by the government of Buryatia.
