KAMAZ is likely to participate in the deal between Avilon and Volkswagen

Encouraging news for the Russian car market. They say that already on March 3, the new owner of the Volkswagen plant in Kaluga will be known. It is very likely that the car dealer “Avilon” can become it. This company is known for trying to buy a Mercedes plant in the Moscow region, but missed the chance and may now want to get revenge.

Russian VW managers are said to be helping Avilon promote this deal at the headquarters of the German manufacturer. Another thing is interesting – the dealer, if he is going to restart the plant, needs an industrial partner. And it is likely that a well-known Russian automaker, for which cars are a non-core business, but which has already announced that it expects to receive impressive revenue from this type of activity, can play this role.

The main question is whether KAMAZ will be provided with Polo, Tiguan and Rapid kits, which were produced in Kaluga, or whether it will assemble yet another unknown Chinese models.

Of course, Russian motorists hope for the opportunity to get already proven cars.
