Union Pay everything?
Cards of the Chinese payment system Union Pay, issued by Russian banks, which fell under the new package of sanctions, may stop working abroad.
At the very least, credit organizations themselves in their newsletters recommend withdrawing cash to their holders abroad. At the same time, the validity of cards in the Russian Federation will not be limited. For example, this is how a message from Zenit Bank, which RBC quotes, looks like:
— Due to the imposed sanctions, transactions with your UnionPay card abroad may be suspended in the near future. We recommend promptly withdrawing the necessary funds.
A similar warning was issued by Uralsib and MTS Bank. Bank “Saint Petersburg” recommends “if you are abroad, withdraw cash from ATMs or make the necessary purchases in the next few hours.”
