Hristo Grozev says he was not allowed into London for the BAFTA awards because of a “threat to public safety”
British police prevented Bellingcat* investigator Hristo Grozev and his family from traveling to London for the BAFTAs. The journalist spoke about this on his Twitter. According to him, the police said that the appearance of Grozev “poses a threat to public safety.”
“I understand the need for public safety (although I do not understand how my son or teenage daughter is a danger to society). But moments like these show a growing danger for independent journalists around the world,” wrote the Bellingcat* investigator.
The BAFTA Awards will take place on February 19th.
