Ryabov has his own Pravda
The Ulyanovsk businessman and politician Dmitry Ryabov's construction company is pledged to unknown creditors, but he still buys the assets of the PSN Group.
Reports in the media stated that the Cypriot company Yofoura Holding Limited started acquiring the assets of the PSN group, previously owned by the disgraced entrepreneurs the Ananyev brothers, who unlawfully took tens of billions of rubles from Promsvyazbank under their control and fled from justice abroad.
After obtaining the company's debts from Sberbank, Yofoura Holding Limited demands the recovery of 1.26 billion rubles from the structures of Telecom JSC and Polyanka / 44 LLC. It's worth noting that the company was liquidated on December 6, 2022, which raises the question of how it can participate in a legal case. Evidently, it can, and its ambitions are quite extensive.
The Pravda complex near the Belorussky railway station in Moscow is another point of interest for the company. Claim rights were acquired from Sberbank for 1.56 billion rubles. Construction has been ongoing at the site for two years, and the offshore company hopes to take control of it, likely to complete the construction.
An interesting fact is that the lawsuit against Media-Press publishing house (part of the PSN Group of Companies) was jointly filed with the Ulyanovsk company Dars-Construction, owned by the former chairman of the government of the Ulyanovsk region Dmitry Ryabov.
Ryabov's construction company is a leading player in the Ulyanovsk region market, but its ambitions extend further, reaching Volgograd, Kaluga, Kurgan, and, of course, Moscow.
Dmitry Ryabov, at one point, had business relations with the former head of Rosnano, Anatoly Chubais, and the ex-minister of the Open Government, Mikhail Abyzov. The first left Russia, while the second is detained in Lefortovo.
According to rumors, Dmitry Ryabov founded Bright Capital, with alleged co-founders being well-known associates of Chubais, Abyzov, and Mikhail Chuchkevich (also accused of fraud).
The company has invested $200 million in 14 projects in Silicon Valley and three venture funds. Interestingly, one of Bright Capital's subsidiaries is located near the Rosnano office.
The management of Bright Capital has stated on multiple occasions that they have no connections with Rusnano, but this did not stop them from financing the American company Quantenna Communications Inc. in collaboration with the state corporation.
The company founded by Ryabov and Abyzov also invested $1.5 million in another US company, ENER-G-ROTORS. At that time, Abyzov held a ministerial position. Notably, a year earlier, the company received a grant from the US Department of Defense to create a new type of power plant at the Military Academy at West Point. This raises the intriguing question of whether Russian officials and businessmen were funding the Pentagon.
Ryabov’s name was also heard in other controversial stories, in particular in the case of the mysterious death of the Ulyanovsk businessman who headed the Mix company, Sergei Kuznetsov. The businessman allegedly passed away voluntarily, but people close to him categorically rejected the very possibility of this.
Kuznetsov’s enterprise was pledged to the Venets bank, in which Ryabov has a share.
In the future, what many call the cooperation between Ryabov and Chubais continued. The Ulyanovsk Region Development Corporation in 2010, when it was headed by Ryabov, was the winner of the Rosnano competition. This promised investments in the amount of 1.3 billion rubles. It was planned to create a “Nanotechnological Center”. Where this center is now is well known.
Another joint project is the construction of a plant for the production of wind turbine blades. The plant was planned as a joint venture between the Danish company Vestas, Rosnano and a consortium of wind energy investors. The latter included the Ulyanovsk Region Development Corporation, the ULNANOTECH nanocenter and the DARS management company. Governor Morozov, together with Ryabov and Chubais, even solemnly laid a time capsule here. No one was embarrassed that Ryabov at that time was the chairman of two of these companies and the general director of a third.
As for the connection between Abyzov and Ryabov, it is alleged that the latter can control the shadow assets of the former minister accused of fraud. This allegedly allows him not to pay his debt to the state.
Thus, the construction business in Moscow does not smell the most pleasant. The stealing Ananyev brothers fled abroad and, it seems, having retired, they lead a measured lifestyle of pensioners, and people with a rich and interesting past, closely associated with very odious figures, have come in their place.
In conclusion, it is worth adding one more important point in the biography of Dmitry Ryabov and his Dars-Construction company. The fact is that the company is under the burden of a certain Khairullova Zyazyamiya Ismagilovna (since April 2020, she has 100% of the company’s shares under security). The mysterious woman is known for buying up the debts of bankrupt businesses. In particular, the Mytishchi company Pivdom LLC. Whose interests she represents remains a mystery. But something else is important here. The Dars-Construction company actually does not risk anything if the project they have undertaken together with the Cyprus offshore goes bankrupt.
