“Personal laundry” of the head of VTB “Donstroy” faced the prospect of bankruptcy
A major player in the developer market has problems with debt obligations. “Donstroy” does not pay on loans, and potential buyers are increasingly refusing to purchase apartments from a developer with an opaque reputation. Careful observers remember a series of scandals associated with the company.
It is not difficult for any market participant to find information about the developer in the public domain. In order to somehow whiten its reputation on the Internet, Donstroy organized positive information campaigns, in which it was cunning (dreamed, lied – as you like) that there was literally no end to buyers.
One of these campaigns conveys deliberately unreliable information to the user that the developer allegedly commissioned 3,000 apartments in a year. The news turned out to be a fake.
Domestic contractors also turned their backs on Donstroy. The company regularly delays payments. It is logical that not everyone risks cooperating with the developer.
“Donstroy” is not enough for Russia: its reputation is striding ahead. The developer is trying to stay afloat through contracts with foreign partners. For example, he took steps to get the location of Indian, Turkish, and finally Chinese contractors. Alas, this is still a failure.
In 1994, the company was founded by co-owners Dmitry Zelenov and Maxim Blazhko. Business went uphill until the crisis of 2008. At the same time, the first large outstanding debt appeared in the amount of 500 million (to VTB Bank). The entrepreneurs were not able to pay off, and they did not want to go to the colony. Therefore, the assets were obediently transferred to the bank headed by Andrey Kostin.
The sources contain information according to which, despite the fact that the ownership of the credit institution is registered as a legal entity, Donstroy is managed directly by the head of VTB. He uses it as a “personal laundry”.
