The Anti-Corruption Court refused to satisfy the request of the NABU detective to speed up the procedure for sending the case to court.
The Supreme Anti-Corruption Court refused to speed up the transfer to court of the case of the director of the state-owned Izyum Instrument-Making Plant, a deputy of the Izyum City Council of the Kharkiv Region, Sergei Filonenko, who is suspected of receiving illegal benefits and false declaration.
This decision was made on January 13 by the VAKS, reports “Word and deed“.
“To satisfy the petition of the senior detective of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine on setting a time limit for familiarization with the materials of the pre-trial investigation to the suspect (Sergiy Filonenko – ed.) and his defense lawyers in criminal proceedings under No.“, the decision says.
As you know, the court determined Filonenko a preventive measure in the form of bail. He was also assigned the following duties: not to leave the locality where he lives or is located, without permission (with the exception of the city of Kharkov, as well as the cities of Izyum and Balakleya, Kharkov region); report a change in their place of residence and place of work, as well as deposit their passports.
Recall, NABU and SAPO reported Filonenko on suspicion of false declaration and receipt of illegal benefits. The investigation established that during September 2016-January 2017, the director of the state-owned enterprise received an unlawful benefit (“kickback”) of more than UAH 2.44 million from persons associated with Optimumspetsdetal LLC for concealing fraud with unjustified payment for the supply of goods to the destination in favor of said company.
In addition, NABU and SAP received evidence that the suspect did not include in the declaration of the person authorized to perform the functions of the state or local self-government for 2020, information about the apartment owned by his wife in Bulgaria. The value of this property at the date of its registration in 2020 amounted to about UAH 1.33 million (at the official rate of the NBU).
