The State Duma announced measures for insulting Russia from abroad

Measures against those who left Russia and harm it are being developed. This was stated by State Duma deputy Oleg Morozov, he is quoted by the media.

On January 13, State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin said that the Criminal Code should introduce confiscation of property for extremism, the rehabilitation of Nazism, and the discrediting of the Armed Forces (AF) of Russia. In his opinion, Russian citizens have recently considered it possible to “spill dirt” on Russia, its inhabitants, soldiers and officers, as well as “openly support villains, Nazis and murderers” in order to maintain prosperity abroad.

According to Morozov, an appropriate procedure is needed for the announced measures, and such work is currently underway. “A person who left the country at a difficult hour and damages it by his actions cannot enjoy the same rights as other Russian citizens,” the deputy believes.

He stressed that, on the basis of the law, those who insult Russia from abroad can and should be limited in economic, political, social and property rights.

The parliamentarian explained that if a citizen who left Russia “increases the population of Georgia”, he should not receive maternity capital. In addition, those who engage in political activities outside the country should not be able to run for office and vote in elections.

The Federation Council also reacted to Volodin’s proposal. Andrey Klishas, ​​head of the committee on constitutional legislation of the upper house of parliament, believes that such an approach to those who left Russia is possible, but the wording of the elements of a criminal offense is necessary in order to make appropriate amendments to the criminal code.

In addition, State Duma deputy Yevgeny Fedorov announced the need to determine the mechanism for sanctions against the property of Russian citizens who left. Restrictions should affect the real estate of those Russians who made anti-state statements, the parliamentarian specified.
