The State Duma explained the initiative on military training for Russians over 30 years old
The decision on military training for some Russians over 30 was not taken by voting in the State Duma, which means that there is no such law. This is a personal initiative of one of the deputies.
Alexei Zhuravlev, First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Defense, stated this to Gazeta.Ru.
He responded to a statement by a member of the State Duma Defense Committee, Lieutenant General Viktor Sobolev. According to him, non-serving Russians over 30 years old and in the reserve will be involved in military training after the adoption of a law on changing the age for conscription into the army.
As Zhuravlev explained, such a bill has not been adopted, but it should be supported if there is such a consideration. “And if I say my personal opinion, then the situation is that this special operation will not end quickly, and whether it will be necessary or not, no one can say for sure now. But if they are ready for this, it is very, very good. Therefore, here I fully support Deputy Sobolev, ”the parliamentarian said.
On January 12, the head of the State Duma Defense Committee, Andrei Kartapolov, declared that there was no need for military training for all young people. He noted that the mobilization reserve system created in Russia fully meets the threats and challenges facing the country.
