Putin spoke about the special mission of the Bashkirs
Russian President Vladimir Putin explained why he considers the Republic of Bashkortostan a special region of the country and spoke about the special mission of the Bashkirs.
His words are quoted by Izvestia.
“From the moment of voluntary entry into the Russian Empire, the Bashkirs voluntarily took on a special mission – to protect the external borders of a single fatherland. In 1812, during the Patriotic War, Bashkiria put almost the entire male population on horseback and sent them to fight the enemy, ”Putin explained.
In this regard, the president called it no wonder today’s responsible behavior of the region during the special operation – “warm and sincere in relation to the participants in hostilities and their families.”
In addition, Putin called the capital of the region Ufa one of the significant centers of “enlightened, creative and patriotically oriented” Russian Islam. “We can say that Bashkiria has always played a special role in the life, history and destiny of Russia,” he added during his visit to the region.
On January 13, Putin arrived in Ufa to say goodbye to the first president of Bashkiria, Murtaza Rakhimov, and a video was published with his participation in the funeral.
