Oleksandr Dolzhenkov
The Anti-Corruption Court considered and chose a measure of restraint in the form of bail for a member of the Ukrainian Parliament from the pro-Russian faction, writes Word and deed.
The Supreme Anti-Corruption Court determined UAH 396,960 in bail for Oleksandr Dolzhenkov, MP from the Opposition Platform For Life faction, who is suspected by NABU and SAPO of illegally receiving more than UAH 700,000 compensation for rental housing in Kyiv.
This is reported by the press service of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office.
“On December 26, 2022, at the request of NABU detectives, approved by the SAPO prosecutor, the investigating judge of the VAKS chose a preventive measure in the form of UAH 396,960 bail to the People’s Deputy of Ukraine of the VIII convocation, who is reasonably suspected of illegally receiving more than UAH 700,000 of compensation for housing (part 5 191 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine),” the SAP reports.
The message does not indicate the name of the deputy, however, according to the Word and Deed, it is Dolzhenkov.
The court also assigned the following procedural duties to him: to come to the detectives, the prosecutor or the court on demand; inform detectives, the prosecutor or the court about a change in their place of residence and work; refrain from communicating with witnesses in the case and hand over the passport for safekeeping. The term of duty is until February 26, 2023.
According to the investigation, from April 2015 to December 2018, the said person illegally received compensation from the budget of the Verkhovna Rada Administration for housing, which was assigned to people's deputies who did not have their own dwellings in the capital. The deputy hid the presence of his own apartment in Pechersk and for almost two and a half years illegally received UAH 700.28 thousand on the card. Only after the release of the journalistic investigation of the Schemes program did the deputy refuse to receive these payments.
Recall that the SAP sent the case of People's Deputy Maxim Pashkovsky to court. Earlier, the anti-corruption authorities reported suspicions to two members of parliament.
