Ruslan Tarpan demands his car back
Former Odessa MP and businessman Ruslan Tarpan, who has a suspected and wanted status in Ukraine, is trying to become the owner of a Soviet-era Stalin-era car through Ukrainian courts. This is evidenced by a ruling of the Kiev district administrative court, 368.media reports.
In September this year Ruslan Tarpan appealed to Odessa Primorsky district court to establish the fact that the car ZIS-101 of 1939 issue belongs to the applicant on the right of private ownership. In addition, Tarpan’s representative also filed a lawsuit in September against the main service centre of the Ministry of Internal Affairs represented by the centre No 5141 because of the refusal to re-register the car due to loss of the registration certificate.
Recall that Tarpan likes Stalin-era collector cars. He even allegedly owned Stalin’s personal limousine, which was allegedly stolen from him in Moscow. It is also known that Tarpan took part in Russian exhibitions with his Soviet cars, for which he was awarded with a formulation for demonstrating the prestige and glory of the Russian state.

Ruslan Tarpan has been on the all-Ukrainian wanted list since 2017. Since 2021 he is on the interstate wanted list. The fugitive is probably hiding in the UAE, Bulgaria, and it is possible that he visits Russia. His visit to Moscow, in particular, was reported in the Russian press. In Ukraine, Tarpan has been remanded to custody in absentia. Therefore, in case of his return or extradition, he will be placed immediately behind bars.
Tarpan is accused of embezzling funds on a particularly large scale during the construction of the Deepwater Venture project.
